Singapore Airlines Suites Class on the Airbus A380 is often called the finest first class product in the world. With individual closing doors, a separate swivel plush leather chair, and a standalone double bed, it feels closer to a private jet than commercial aviation. We boarded flight SQ321 from London to Singapore to review the experience.
The Suite Sanctuary
With only six suites on the upper deck, the cabin is incredibly quiet. Each suite measures nearly 50 square feet and features a leather armchair hand-stitched by Poltrona Frau, a 32-inch touchscreen monitor, and a personal wardrobe. If you are traveling with a partner, the divider between adjacent suites can be lowered to create a massive double-bedroom suite.
Gourmet Dining
Singapore Airlines' "Book the Cook" service allows first class passengers to pre-order dishes prepared by a panel of international chefs. We enjoyed lobster thermidor accompanied by caviar service, washed down with Krug and Dom Pérignon champagne.
The Verdict
Suites Class represents the absolute pinnacle of commercial travel. While cash tickets cost upwards of $10,000, booking via consolidator allocations or frequent flyer miles makes it a bucket-list experience worth every penny.
